Tennis player Sinner beat Shelton and reached the final of the Australian Open
World number one Yannick Cinner of Italy defeated Ben Shelton of the United States in the semifinals of the Australian Open. The meeting took place on January 24 in Melbourne.
The Italian managed to beat his opponent with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 6:2, 6:2. The match lasted for 2 hours and 36 minutes. Cinner will play in the final against tennis player Alexander Zverev of Germany.
Cinner has won 18 singles titles on the ATP World Tour, including two majors titles at the 2024 Australian Open and the 2024 US Open.
Earlier, on January 23, world number one Arina Sobolenko of Belarus defeated Spain's Paula Badosa to reach the Australian Open final. The game ended with the score 6:4, 6:2 in favor of Sobolenko.
