Peskov said there was no connection between oil prices and the Ukrainian conflict

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday, January 24, that oil prices do not affect the conflict in Ukraine.
"This conflict does not depend on oil prices. This conflict is taking place because of the threat to the national security of the Russian Federation, because of the threat to Russians who live in known territories and because of the unwillingness and complete refusal of the Americans and Europeans to listen to Russia's concerns," the presidential spokesman said at a briefing.
