A special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas has been carried out by Russia since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the advance of the joint troops of Russia, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as view a map of military operations for a week - from January 18 to 24 - in the Izvestiya piece.

The Defense Ministry said that during the week, units of the Center group of forces continued to advance deep into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and liberated the settlements of Petropavlovka, Vozdvizhenka, Volkovo, Solenoye, Timofeevka and Shevchenko in the DNR. Units of the Vostok group of forces liberated Vremivka in the Donetsk people's republic.

Units of the West military group also liberated the settlements of Novohorovka in the LPR and Zapadnoye in Kharkiv Region.

In addition, in this direction, the Armed Forces (AF) of the Russian Federation defeated manpower and equipment of four mechanized, two aeromobile, gamekeeper, mountain and assault brigades of the AFU, a brigade of the Tero Defense and a brigade of the National Guard.

Also during the week, 17 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered on the line of contact.

Also, Russian air defense means (air defense) shot down five French Hammer bombs, 17 multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) HIMARS, 752 aircraft-type drones, including 218 destroyed during the day, including 174 outside the zone of the Special Military Operation.

In total, 652 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 41395 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20829 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1510 MLRS combat vehicles, 20913 field artillery and mortars, 30758 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
