The administration of US President Donald Trump does not intend to participate in Ukraine 's post-conflict reconstruction. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency on January 24, citing a Western diplomat.

"The President's team made it clear that the new US administration does not intend to participate directly in the Ukrainian reconstruction, this is what they offered the private sector to take over," the material noted.

According to the Agency, the discussion of this decision is still underway.

Earlier, on January 24, Trump threatened Russia with the introduction of "huge tariffs" if it does not settle the conflict in Ukraine soon. At the same time, Trump said that he loves and respects the Russian people and does not want to resort to radical measures.

On January 22, Trump expressed hope that his team is already making great efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The US president promised to put an end to the conflict, but did not provide details.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken amid the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
