Lukashenko pardons 15 more convicts

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko pardoned 15 convicts. This was reported on Friday, January 24, BelTA informs with reference to the press service of the head of state.

Eight people, three men and five women (one of them pregnant), pardoned for extremist crimes.

Seven people, including three girls, were also pardoned for drug trafficking. Six of them committed crimes as minors, and one adult convict has cancer.

"Each pardon is a show of mercy, a chance to return to normal life and become a law-abiding member of society," the press service said.

Earlier, January 18, Lukashenko pardoned 23 people, who had committed crimes of extremist orientation. The press service of the President of Belarus also added that 14 of the pardoned have chronic diseases, while 12 have children.

Before that, December 28, 2024, the Belarusian leader pardoned 20 people, who had been convicted of extremist crimes. It was reported that all the convicted had applied for pardon and expressed remorse for their actions.
