The level of trust of Russian citizens in Putin exceeded 78%

The level of trust of Russian citizens in President Vladimir Putin has exceeded 78%. This follows from the report of the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM), published on January 24.

The poll was conducted among 1.6 thousand adult Russians.

"A direct question about trust in Vladimir Putin was answered positively by 78.1% of respondents. <...> The index of approval of the president's activity from January 13 to January 19, 2025 amounted to 75.2%," the VTsIOM said in a statement.

It was specified that for a week, from January 13 to January 19, the level of confidence in the head of state increased by 0.3 p.p.

At the same time 49% of respondents approve of the RF Government activity. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is trusted by 61.3% of respondents.

Adult Russians were also asked about their attitude to other heads of parliamentary parties. Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee Gennady Zyuganov is trusted by 32.6% of respondents (-2.9 p.p. for the week), the head of the party "Fair Russia - For Truth" Sergei Mironov - 26.4% (-3.9 p.p.), the leader of the LDPR Leonid Slutsky is trusted by 20% of Russians (-2.7 p.p.), only 8.1% (-0.2 p.p.) of respondents expressed confidence in the chairman of the party "New People" Alexei Nechaev.

Earlier, on January 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian president enjoys tremendous support from the population. At that time, VTsIOM and the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) presented the results of polls that showed the level of trust in the Russian leader at 78.3% and 79%.

On January 9, according to the results of the VTsIOM poll, Putin became the leader of the rating of the main politicians of 2024. It was reported that the Russian president has been consistently ranked first in this rating since its compilation began in 2006.

Peskov noted back in early July 2024 that the high level of support for Putin among Russians was due to the results of his daily responsible work.
