Turkish remake of the Russian movie "Kholop" has been released in theaters
The Turkish movie "Kholop. Magnificent Century", a remake of the Russian "Kholop". The film was directed by Onur Unlu, the main roles played by Kerem Bursin, Melis Sezen, Erkan Kolcak Kestendil and Melisa Dengel.
The Russian franchise "Kholop" continues to wander the world. Following the French adaptation of Klim Shipenko's comedy, the Turkish one came out. The plot of "The Magnificent Century" is almost identical to the original, only this time a spoiled major from Istanbul is sent for a harsh re-education in the Ottoman Empire. Here he is not the son of influential and rich people, and a simple stable boy at the court of Sultan Suleiman.
Fans of Turkish TV series will appreciate the new "Holop" doubly, because the Istanbul version of the major Grisha named Mete played by Kerem Bursin - aka Serkan Bolat from the most popular series "Knock on my door. The performer of the main role in an interview with the portal "Kino-Theater.ru" admitted that the dynamics of the plot is so ingenious that absolutely any country can adapt "Kholop".
In 2023, the Mongolian remake of the comedy was released, and the rights to adaptation have been sold to several other countries.
