The Victory Museum will host the exhibition "Auschwitz. The Truth", timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

"January 27 marks the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust. On this day in 1945 the Red Army troops under the command of Ivan Konev liberated one of the most notorious concentration camps of Nazi Germany - Auschwitz (Auschwitz)", - told in the Museum of Victory.

It is specified that about 50 items from the funds of the Victory Museum will be included in the exhibition: personal belongings and household items of prisoners of war, documents, including lists of prisoners, graphic works, books, photographs.

In addition, in a separate part of the exhibition will be presented everyday objects of concentration camp prisoners, fragments of their clothing, patches and badges. Also at the exhibition in the museum on Poklonnaya Hill will be presented a unique collection of works by graphic artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR Gennady Dobrov from the graphic cycle "Sheets of Sorrow", dedicated to the memory of both prisoners of Auschwitz and liberators of concentration camps.

And the showcases will present a set of OSWIECIM postcards from the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum in Poland, commemorative medals and plaques for the anniversaries of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Every year on January 27, the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust is celebrated around the world. On this day in 1945 the Red Army liberated the largest Nazi death camp Auschwitz (German: Auschwitz).
