Technological development and cooperation, as well as logistics and a common transportation space are of primary importance for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This was stated by Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach in an interview with Izvestia.

"At the same time, the Republic of Belarus itself proclaims food security as the key issue of its presidency. Another priority Minsk emphasizes the formation of a common transparent competitive environment and the development of common technical standards. Regulations need to be constantly expanded and improved, because technologies are changing, new markets and entire industries are emerging," he emphasized.

Dmitry Volvach specified: it is important to respond to such changes in order not to create unnecessary barriers, but on the contrary, to support and promote goods with high localization in the EAEU member countries both in the domestic market of the Union and in the main partners.

In addition, the association is interested in the development of electronic commerce. In the near future, a separate agreement is planned to be adopted, which will define the agreed rules for the implementation of electronic commerce in the Eurasian market, the deputy minister of economic development added.

"It is very important that in the year of Belarus' presidency the mechanism of financial support for cooperation projects, for which we have been going and preparing for so long, will start functioning in reality. This year we also have a very serious budget for subsidizing projects - more than Br3 billion from the EAEU treasury. So I think we have a serious opportunity to support several large, important flagship integration projects on the territory of the Union," emphasized the deputy head of the Ministry of Economic Development.

Earlier, on December 26, 2024, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that mutual trade between the EAEU countries for nine months increased by 12.3% compared to 2023 and totaled Br6.5 trillion. According to him, an important step was the agreement on a unified system of customs transit of the EAEU and third countries, which was signed by the heads of the Union.

At the same time, he told Izvestia about the transition of the Russian Federation to settlements with partners in rubles. He noted the large trade turnover between the countries. Also Reshetnikov shared that trade within the EAEU is stable and protected from external risks.

Earlier, October 1, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stressed that the Union State is the locomotive of integration within the EAEU, because Moscow and Minsk are working on the EAEU proposals to strengthen the free promotion of goods, services and labor precisely in a joint format.

The EAEU is an international organization of regional economic integration with international legal personality. It includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. One of the main advantages of the organization is a common labor market.
