US President Donald Trump has stripped former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo of his national security detail. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT) on January 23.

According to the publication, the protection was removed the day before, January 22. In addition, Trump also deprived the protection of ex-advisor Brian Hook.

It is specified that both politicians were subjected to constant threats from Iran because of their actions carried out on behalf of the current American leader in his first presidential term.

Earlier, on January 21, Trump signed an executive order that prohibits officials from passing new regulations until his administration has "full control" of the federal government. Until then, there is a ban on hiring government employees, with the exception of the military and some other categories.

In addition, the politician is going to deprive tens of thousands of people in the federal government of job security, which will allow the new administration to carry out massive layoffs and purges in the state apparatus.
