The collection of famous British rock musician Jeff Beck was sold at an auction in London for $10.7 million (£8.7 million). This was reported on January 23 by the TV channel "BBC".
It is noted that the auction was organized by the British auction house Christie's. The price of lots ranged from £100 to £500 thousand, but the sale of the collection more than eight times the presale estimated value.
A 1954 Gibson Les Paul guitar, which is featured on the cover of the Blow by Blow album, was sold for $1.315 million, and a Jackson guitar signed by American singer Tina Turner went under the hammer for a sum that was 36 times higher than pre-sale estimates.
In total, the musician's collection included about 120 guitars, as well as amplifiers and pedals.
According to the channel, the auction was attended by collectors from 40 countries. About $154 thousand of the collected funds were directed to charity.
British guitar virtuoso died in January 2023 at the age of 78 years. At the beginning of his career he played in the rock band The Yardbirds, in 1967 he founded his own band The Jeff Beck Group. In 2022, Jeff Beck and actor Johnny Depp released a collaborative album, "18".

Before that, on January 15, guitars of the British musician-virtuoso Jeff Beck were shown at an exhibition in London ahead of the auction. Visitors were able to see the performer's musical instruments and Beck's personal items.
