"Moskvich 3e" became the bestseller among electric cars in Russia for the first time
In December 2024, Moskvich automobile plant became the leader in sales of new electric cars in Russia for the first time. This was reported by the analytical agency "Avtostat" on January 23.
"Moskvich 3e" is the only electric model of the capital car plant. In December last year, the circulation of the model amounted to 447 units. It is equipped with a 193-horsepower powertrain, the range on a single charge is 410 km on the WLTP cycle.
In terms of electric car sales, the Moskvich brand is slightly ahead of the Chinese Zeekr (443 units), which is represented on the Russian market by several models supplied unofficially. Analysts noted that Zeekr's sales volume in December fell by 54% (to December 2023), while Moskvich's sales volume grew by 10.6 times. Such growth is due to purchases of domestic electric crossovers by legal entities, experts believe.
The five leading brands of the electric car market in Russia were completed by Ora (86 units), Evolute (75 units) and Tesla (40 units), whose models are not officially represented in Russia.
January 9, it was reported that at the end of 2024 in Russia sold more than 23 thousand cars "Moskvich", including more than 2.4 thousand liftback "Moskvich 6" and more than 1.3 thousand electric crossovers "Moskvich 3e". Back in August 2024, Maxim Zlatokrylets, commercial director of the capital's automobile plant, stated that Moskvich was sticking to its plan to sell 27 thousand cars in 2024.
