The government has simplified the receipt of Russian pensions abroad

Russia has expanded citizens' access to biometric services. The corresponding decree was approved by the Russian government, reported in the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko on January 23.

Now it will be easier to get a number of services. For example, to remotely confirm the right to receive a pension abroad, it is no longer necessary to register biometrics in the bank - it is enough to register it in the application "Gosusgoservices Biometrics" using a foreign passport of a new sample (that is, issued for 10 years). With the same biometrics it will be possible to confirm age when buying energy drinks.

In the future, with the help of biometrics it will be possible to buy and other goods with age restrictions, as well as receive them at the point of delivery of orders (PVZ), store or in the postamat, suggested in the Association of Internet Commerce Companies (AKIT).

"If necessary, this can be applied at all stages, depending on the product group: both when placing an order and receiving it, and not only in the delivery by courier, in the PVZ or in the store, but also in a contactless way, for example, through postamats. Identification occurs in the moment, and in this case it is easy to control sales, because errors or substitutions are excluded - the system reliably confirms the age," explained "Izvestia" president of AKIT Artem Sokolov.

In addition, the risk of personal data leakage is eliminated: online stores will not have access to the buyer's data, his photo, date, place of birth, as happens in the case of a passport, added the head of AKIT.

The decree also provides a new way of additional protection of personal account on "Gosusluga" - through "simplified" biometrics. To do this, you need to take a photo in the application "Gosuservices Biometrics" and activate the option in your personal account on the portal of state services.

"Simplified biometrics on "Gosuslugi" provides additional protection and convenience. It eliminates the difficulties associated with the inaccessibility of the phone, its theft or SIM card substitution. Biometrics is a unique identifier that cannot be lost, forgotten or transferred. The system cannot be fooled by presenting a printed photo, image or video from the device, as well as by spoofing the video stream," VisionLabs CEO Dmitry Markov told Izvestia.

As additional protection, it is still possible to use an SMS code, a unique one-time password from a special application or other types of biometrics registered with a passport or bank. In the "Security" section on "Gosusluga" you can choose any method.

Grigorenko emphasized that biometrics is an additional tool for obtaining services, and a person can always choose the most appropriate service option.

Earlier, on January 20, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation told "Izvestia" that they see a steady trend towards the use of biometric technologies. They noted that the payment preferences of citizens are changing, and the share of non-cash payments is redistributed in favor of alternative (non-card) methods of non-cash payment, including bioacquiring.
