The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus has not yet received complaints or reports of violations at polling stations during early voting in the presidential election. This was stated by chairman of the CEC of the republic Igor Karpenko on January 23.

"We have no [information] about such violations so far. Generally speaking, neither presidential candidates nor citizens have any complaints," he told reporters after participating in the voting in Minsk. His words are quoted by BelTA agency.

In addition, Karpenko commented on the draft resolution of the European Parliament (EP), which calls not to recognize the presidential elections in the republic. He called it a direct interference in the electoral sovereignty of the country.

Also, the head of the Central Election Commission said that two days of early elections showed that Belarusians actively participate in the electoral process.

"The turnout is high enough. It shows that people consciously go to the polling stations, make their informed choice. I want to emphasize that today our polling stations are working normally," said Karpenko.

Earlier, January 21, the EP website published information about the draft resolution, which contains an appeal to the EU countries not to recognize the results of the presidential elections in Belarus.

January 22, Foreign Minister Anatoli Glaz called the document biased and said that it was a gross interference in the electoral process of a sovereign state.

Presidential elections in Belarus are scheduled for January 26, 2025. January 21, early voting started.

The candidates for the presidential election in Belarus are the current leader of the country, Alexander Lukashenko, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich, MP Anna Kanopatskaya, leader of the Belarusian Communists Sergei Syrankov and leader of the Party of Labor and Justice Alexander Khizhnyak.
