Zelensky's office recognized the difficult situation on the front line for the AFU

The situation on the frontline for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) remains difficult and tense. This statement was made on January 23 by the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20, 2024) Andriy Yermak.
"In the current status of the conflict, we are still in a more tense and more complicated situation in the east, as well as in Kursk region, where we still remain for more than five months," he said on CNBC.
According to him, the difficulty lies in the insufficient equipment of the Ukrainian army brigades.
The Telegraph newspaper reported the day before that the AFU had no effective means left to defend the front line. A military officer with the radio call sign Darwin believes that one of the main reasons for Ukraine's predicament is Russia's improvement of electronic warfare (EW) technologies against FPV drones.
On the same day, the AFU General Staff again described the situation on the contact line as difficult and noted the superiority of the Russian military in terms of technical equipment and personnel numbers.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
