Millions of Russians use cab services every day. Despite the fact that the service is constantly developing and improving, it is not without unpleasant incidents. "Izvestia" tells where and how to complain about poor-quality cab services in 2025.

In what cases to complain about a cab

Services for transportation by passenger cab fall under the law on the protection of consumer rights. If a passenger is dissatisfied with their quality, he can always appeal both to the management of the company and to the regulatory authorities.

Grounds for appeal can be the cab driver's lateness, leaving the place before the waiting time expires, driver's rudeness, incorrectly organized route, driving in violation of traffic rules.

Another frequent reason is technical malfunction of the vehicle. Riding in such a vehicle is unsafe and violates the rules of safe transportation. Also a reason to make a complaint is the lack of a license.

Where to complain about a cab

To declare your dissatisfaction with the quality of service can be a cab dispatcher. But, as a rule, large carriers have a feedback form on the website or in the application of the service. Reviews and complaints are most often left there.

Conscientious carriers usually quickly solve such issues. For example, they can provide another car or reduce the cost of the trip. If the management does not take any measures and does not respond to the complaint, then for the protection of their rights should apply to higher authorities.

Depending on the grounds, you can apply to Rospotrebnadzor, regional transport control authorities, the police and the traffic police. Thus, issues related to traffic safety fall within the competence of the State Automobile Inspectorate, threats and insults - of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and low-quality services are reported to the controlling authorities.

If the carriage is carried out without proper authorization, the complaint is sent to the traffic police or the transport inspectorate.

What to specify in a complaint about a cab

First of all, it is necessary to describe in detail the reason for the appeal, indicating at the top your full name and contact information.

The complaint also contains the name of the company, the number of the car and the name of the driver (they should be specified in the application and on the plate in the cabin), the legislative justification for bringing the cab driver or company management to responsibility with compensation, if the applicant has suffered losses. At the end put the date and signature.

If the issue has not been resolved, file a lawsuit in court, attaching the necessary documents and a response to the complaint from the department to which it was sent.

Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that cab drivers want to prohibit raising prices in bad weather.
