In the Republic of Ingushetia detained members of an organized criminal group, who stole budget funds. This was reported in the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia on January 23.
"The persons stole more than 66 million rubles allocated for the construction of the electric substation "Plievo-Novaya" in Nazranovsky district of the Republic of Ingushetia," the agency said.
A criminal case was opened under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group on a particularly large scale").
The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained the OCG members, including former and current employees of Rosseti North Caucasus. The detainees' residences were searched and evidence of guilt of the defendants was seized.
The Magassy District Court of Ingushetia chose a measure of restraint in the form of remand in custody for the eight defendants.
Earlier, on January 16, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported about the detention of Nikolai Borisov, former director for economics and finance of the Tenth Bearing Plant LLC, in a criminal case of fraud with embezzlement of at least 800 million rubles in the execution of the state defense order.
