19 cars collided on the Yekaterinburg-Alma-Ata highway in Kazakhstan


In Kazakhstan on the highway Yekaterinburg - Alma-Ata there was a massive accident involving 19 cars. This was reported on Thursday, January 23, by the press service of the company-operator of highways of the republic "Kazavtozhol".
Earlier in the day, traffic from Balkhash to Karaganda was opened on the highway section, as there were good weather conditions and a lot of traffic had accumulated. The traffic was organized by police and road services.
"At 12:30 (10:30 Moscow time) on this section, at 1630 km, there was a massive accident involving 19 passenger cars," a report in the Telegram channel said.
Emergency Situations Ministry and ambulance are working at the site. Information about the victims is absent.
The preliminary cause of the accident called the failure to comply with speed limits and safe distance.

Earlier, January 21, it was reported that the collision of a bus and a truck in Côte d'Ivoire killed at least 15 people and injured 23. It was specified that the accident occurred in the early morning. Fire brigades are working at the scene of the accident. They evacuated the surviving passengers. All the injured were taken to the nearest hospitals.
