There were 224 road accidents in Russia over the past day


Over the past 24 hours, 224 traffic accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 18 people were killed and 275 injured. 14 of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Thursday, January 23, in the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
With the participation of buses recorded 11 accidents, in which there were no fatalities, but 14 road users required medical care. The cause of three accidents with buses was the violation of traffic rules by their drivers. As a result of 83 accidents, 42 of which occurred at crosswalks and 41 outside their zone of action, four pedestrians were killed, 84 more were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 16 child pedestrians. Eight of the injured child pedestrians were injured at crosswalks.
With the participation of minors for the past day 25 road accidents were registered, as a result of which 28 young road users were injured, including 11 child passengers. No children were killed.
In addition, in some regions of the country, temporary traffic restrictions for certain categories of vehicles continue due to adverse weather conditions. Thus, in Kurgan region due to bad weather for the second day temporarily restricted traffic for buses and trucks on the federal highway R-254 "Irtysh" at the approach to the city of Ishim from 396th km to 480th km.
In the Omsk region for these categories of vehicles due to gusty wind, snow and snowstorm all yesterday was restricted traffic on four sections of three federal highways: R-402 from 375th to 611th km, R-254 "Irtysh" from 655th to 947th km and from 781st to 821st km, as well as A-320 Omsk - Cherlak - border with the Republic of Kazakhstan from 13th to 192nd km. At present, the restriction has been lifted. Also for trucks and buses now removed previously introduced in the Novosibirsk region traffic restrictions on FAD R-254 "Irtysh" on the section Chelyabinsk - Kurgan - Omsk - Novosibirsk from 947 to 1441 km.
In the Republic of Bashkortostan the traffic for buses and trucks on the federal highway M-7 "Volga", previously introduced from 1169th to 1230th km due to adverse weather conditions, was restored. The traffic on the 90-kilometer section of the federal highway M-5 "Ural" at the approach to the checkpoint "Orsk" from the 170th to 260th km, previously completely closed for all types of vehicles, has also been restored.
The State Automobile Inspectorate drew the attention of drivers that during the winter period it is necessary to be extremely careful when driving a car: in particular, to avoid sharp rash maneuvers and rearrangements, to observe the interval and distance between vehicles, not to exceed the speed. It is necessary to drive at any time of the day with external lights on, in bad weather it is obligatory to use fog lights, and in conditions of heavy fog or snowfall to reduce speed as much as possible and move with emergency lights on. In case of getting into an accident it is necessary to mark the place of the accident, call the traffic police, and if there are victims - an ambulance crew.
"In connection with changes in atmospheric pressure, we recommend drivers to be more attentive to their well-being. If suddenly at the wheel you feel sick, it is necessary to stop the car immediately, if necessary to call a doctor or use public transportation.
