The owners of the Volgoneft-212 tanker turned out to be descendants of the structures of businessman Mikhail Antonov, the owner of the Bulgaria motor ship, which tragically sank in 2011, Izvestia has found out.

The tanker "Volgoneft-212" is owned by the company "Kama Shipping", and its beneficiaries are Viktor Selkov and his sons Konstantin and Alexander. In the 1990s, Selkov worked as the financial director of Kama River Shipping Company. This is Antonov's firm, which owned the motor ship Bulgaria. One of Selkov's sons also worked there.

"Working in our structure, Viktor Selkov and his son were found guilty of receiving kickbacks and stealing promissory notes of our company for many millions of rubles. That was his start-up capital in their family business. Their companies are on the black list, which we do not work with," Antonov wrote in response to Izvestia's request to talk about the longtime partner.

When Victor Selkov worked as the financial director of Kamsky River Shipping Company in 1998, the business owners were claimed by the FSB because of the withdrawal of foreign currency proceeds abroad. The case was closed after Antonov reimbursed the claimed damage.

The Selkovs left the Kama River Shipping Company before the tragedy with the Bulgaria - on July 10, 2011 it sank in the Kuibyshev Reservoir, killing 122 people.

Viktor Selkov and his sons have built their own group of companies. Among other things, it includes Kama Shipping, which has the tanker Volgoneft-212 on its balance sheet. On December 15, 2024, it sank in the Kerch Strait, causing a fuel oil spill.
