Amur tiger skins and bear paws seized from a poacher in Primorye


The border department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Primorsky Krai seized from a poacher with foreign citizenship the skin of the Amur tiger, bear paws and more than 2 thousand dried trepangs. This was reported in the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the FSB on January 23.
"In the city of Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai, in a non-residential building used by a foreign citizen, the skin of the Amur tiger, 12 paws of bears and other fragments of wild animals, as well as more than 2 thousand specimens of Far Eastern trepangs in dried form were found and seized," the report says.
The damage to natural resources exceeded 3 million rubles. Illegal trafficking of derivatives of wild animals, including those listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation, was stopped.
A criminal case under part 1 of article 258.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Illegal extraction and trafficking of especially valuable wild animals and aquatic bioresources") has been initiated, specified in the agency.
Earlier, on January 15, it became known that a resident of Sakhalin was charged with smuggling fish and caviar worth about 20 million rubles. The man had a contract with a foreign company for supplies to one of the Asian countries. At the same time, he sent the goods with false documents on the manufacturer and expiration date.
