In St. Petersburg, police detained three men who abducted and killed a man in the forest about 30 years ago, a source told Izvestia on January 23.

According to his information, a criminal case on the abduction was opened back in May 1995 after the disappearance of a man born in 1960. Then it was combined into one production with the case of premeditated murder.

The investigation found out that the attackers abducted the victim from his home and took him to the forest in the Lomonosovsky district of the Leningrad region.

Subsequently, law enforcement officers received information about the involvement of three suspects in the crime, one of whom had already been tried several times. They were detained in St. Petersburg on January 22, 2025 at their residential addresses.

Earlier, on January 15, he was detained in Tula href="https://iz.ru/1822602/2025-01-15/v-tule-zaderzhan-podozrevaemyi-v-ubiistve-bolee-chem-30-letnei-davnosti " target="_blank">the suspect in the murder in May 1994, which occurred during a shootout in a casino. Then the attacker disappeared and it was not possible to detain him in hot pursuit, and at the end of 2024, new witnesses appeared.
