Belarusian MP assesses the benefits of the republic's membership in BRICS

Belarus' full membership in BRICS meets the country's national interests, member of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly Alexander Shpakovsky told Izvestia.

"The country's participation in various international formats increases the country's weight in the international arena and creates conditions for promoting its interests in politics and economy. The economic aspect is especially important, as Belarus is an industrial, export-oriented state and we have to sell more than 70% of our products on foreign markets," he said.

So far Belarus has become a BRICS partner.
