One person was killed and seven injured in AFU attacks on the DNR over the day

As a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), one person was killed and seven were injured over the day. This was reported by the head of the region, Denis Pushilin, on January 22.

A man born in 1983 was killed in the Central City district of Horlivka, another local resident born in 1982 sustained moderate injuries.

Two women born in 1967 and a man born in 1951 were injured in the Nikitovsky district of Horlivka. Another 42-year-old resident received wounds of medium severity.

"In the Kalininsky district of Horlivka as a result of the use of VFU barrel artillery of cluster type, a woman born in 1961 received medium severity wounds. In the attack of a Ukrainian drone, medium severity wounds were received by a man born in 1979," Pushilin wrote in his Telegram-channel.

All the injured received the necessary medical care.

In addition, the head of the DNR said that two residential houses were damaged in the Kalininsky district, five civilian infrastructure facilities and two private cars were damaged in the Nikitovsky and Central City districts. In total, the AFU carried out about 20 attacks.

Earlier in the day, the mayor of Gorlovka Ivan Prikhodko reported that a civilian was killed as a result of AFU shelling. Before that, he reported about the death of a Gorlovka resident as a result of shelling by Ukrainian militants on January 21. On that day, the AFU shelled Horlivka 23 times.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces shell the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis against the background of the special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russia on February 24, 2022.
