Umar Nurmagomedov suspended from fighting for six months due to a fractured left arm
Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Umar Nurmagomedov is suspended from fighting for six months due to a broken arm suffered in a fight with Georgian Merab Dvalishvili on January 19. This was reported on January 22 by the MMA Junkie portal of the newspaper USA Today.
As indicated, the Russian fighter is believed to have broken his left arm. In addition, other athletes who performed that day also received lengthy suspensions due to injuries. For example, fighter Bogdan Guskov will not be able to participate in fights for six months because of a probable fracture of the right arm.
The decisions were made by the athletic Commission of the state of California, complements "Sport-Express".
Nurmagomedov was defeated by Dvalishvili in a fight for the title of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) in the lightweight division on January 19. The bout lasted all of five rounds, and the judges unanimously called the Georgian athlete the winner.
Umar Nurmagomedov is the 2016 Russian MMA champion and a multiple-time Thai boxing champion of Dagestan. He is the cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
