Pankov will become the new artistic director of "Lenkom"

Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation Vladimir Pankov will take the post of artistic director of the Moscow State Theater "Lenkom Mark Zakharov". This was reported to "Izvestia" on January 22 in the Department of Culture of Moscow.

This position in "Lenkom" was abolished after the death of the previous director Mark Zakharov on September 28, 2019.

The department specified that the director of the theater Mark Varshaver will take the post of president.

"Mark Borisovich Varshaver has left the post of director and now occupies the post of president of "Lenkom". Director became Dmitry Berestov", - confirmed in the press service of the capital department.

Zakharov was the artistic director of "Lenkom" for more than 40 years. He did not live two weeks before his 86th birthday. He was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow next to Oleg Tabakov, Stanislav Govorukhin and Leonid Bronev.

Earlier, on January 16, Elizaveta Likhacheva informed Izvestia about her decision to leave the post of the head of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. She became the head of the museum in March 2023, replacing Marina Loshak, who had been in charge of the museum since 2013.

The next day, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova announced the appointment of Olga Galaktionova as director of the Pushkin Museum.
