A third of Russians still write down their personal account passwords on paper. This follows from a joint survey by Mail and Hi-Tech Mail, the results of which were reported by Izvestia on January 23.

The purpose of the survey was to find out how gamers use e-mail, where they purchase games, and to find out where users most often store their passwords to game credentials.

About a third of respondents admitted to writing down passwords on pieces of paper, and more than 25% don't even think about how they store account data.

The survey found that only 14% of respondents use secure password managers that help securely store and create unique combinations. Other options where users store secret combinations include: note-taking apps and messenger messages.

In addition, 67% of Russians surveyed prefer to play video games on a computer, while the rest play them on smartphones and tablets.

More than 9 thousand respondents aged 18 to 55 took part in the study.

Earlier, December 25, 2024, Steam service summed up the results of the year and shared statistics, according to which users devoted only 15% of game time to games released last year. It is noted that in 2023 users spent only 9% of total time on new games.
