WSU chief psychiatrist arrested for two months in $1 million embezzlement case
The chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleh Druzya, who is suspected of enriching himself by $1m, has been remanded in custody for two months despite his complaints about his health. This was reported by the Ukrainian online publication Strana.ua on Wednesday, January 22.
At the same time, he was given the opportunity to make bail.
"The Chief psychiatrist of the AFU was sent for two months in custody with the opportunity to bail 49 million hryvnias. Earlier at the trial he complained about the state of health", - stated in the message of the publication.
It was reported the day before that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) had detained the chief psychiatrist of the Ukrainian army. It was specified that he is also the deputy head of the central military medical commission of the AFU. In addition, during the searches, the detainee was found $152,000 and €34,000.
