The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have no effective means left to defend the front line. This was reported by The Telegraph newspaper on 22 January.

According to the publication, Ukraine is in a difficult situation on the front line of 1,000 km.

According to the newspaper, a military officer with the radio call sign Darwin believes that one of the main reasons for the deplorable situation is Russia's improvement of electronic warfare technologies against FPV drones.

It is noted that the Russian army's successes in this area have become a symbol of "the current harsh reality" for Ukrainian troops.

Earlier in the day, the General Staff of the AFU again called the situation on the contact line difficult and noted the superiority of the Russian military in terms of technical equipment and number of personnel.

Before that, on January 20, British journalist Bethany Elliot said that Ukraine would not be able to achieve tactical superiority over the Russian Federation. She also called Kiev's prospects on the front not very favorable.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
