Extinguishing of the fire at the Liski oil depot in Voronezh Region has been completed. This was reported by the governor of the region, Alexander Gusev, on January 22.

He said that currently the equipment and employees of the fire department are returning to their permanent bases. In addition, utility vehicles that took part in the elimination of the consequences are leaving the scene.

"Once again I express my gratitude to the firefighters for their hard work, municipalities - for the assistance provided, and colleagues from Moscow, Lipetsk and Tambov regions - for their readiness to come to the rescue," Gusev wrote in his Telegram-channel.

A fire as a result of the downing of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) intercepted and eliminated by air defense (ADF) and electronic warfare (EW) means in the Voronezh region occurred at an oil depot earlier on January 20. Gusev specified that there was no threat to the population.

Later, on January 21, the governor reported the elimination of open burning at the oil depot. He thanked the specialists for their work.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
