Pelosi criticized Trump for pardoning Capitol stormtroopers

Former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it an outrageous insult to pardon those involved in the January 6, 2021 storming of the Capitol, saying US President Donald Trump has made it his top priority.
"The President's action is an outrageous insult to our justice system and the heroes who have been physically and mentally injured defending the Capitol, Congress and the Constitution," Pelosi wrote on her X (former Twitter) page on January 21.
Despite the president's decision, she said, "we must always remember the extraordinary courage and valor of the law enforcement heroes who stood up for democracy on that dark day."
"It is shameful that the president has chosen to make one of his top priorities the betrayal of police officers who risked their lives to stop an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transition of power," the former House Speaker summarized.
Trump after the inauguration signed an executive order pardoning 1,500 participants in the event.
On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters stormed the building of Congress to prevent the approval of the results of the November 2020 election of the head of state, which was won by the candidate from the Democrats Joe Biden. The riots left five people dead, including a police officer.
Subsequently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation opened more than 160 criminal cases. In turn, the acting prosecutor of the District of Columbia Michael Sherwin admitted that the number of open cases could reach several hundred.
