After the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, users of social networks Instagram and Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist, banned in Russia) found that their accounts subscribed to the pages of the American leader, Vice President JD Vance and First Lady Melania Trump. This was reported by the Daily Mail newspaper on January 22.

The publication writes that many users believe that the company Meta forced them to subscribe to these accounts, leaving them no choice, which caused outrage among people.

DM, meanwhile, noted that the current accounts of the president, vice president and first lady and the US are controlled by the White House and are being handed over to the new leader and his team. Subscription happened automatically if people were previously subscribed to former President Joe Biden's account.

Along with this, users noticed temporary problems with searches on Democratic Party hashtags, while Republican hashtags remained available. Meta said it was a technical glitch that affected both sides of the political spectrum.

On January 20, Trump took the oath of office, becoming the 47th president of the United States. After the inauguration ceremony, he signed more than 200 executive orders. In particular, he approved decisions to withdraw the country from WHO and create the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Also, the Republican suspended Washington's aid abroad, returned the death penalty at the federal level and postponed the blocking of TikTok. Along with this, Trump canceled about 80 executive orders of the Biden administration, including on electric cars.
