The Crimean town of Alupka has started to transform one of the most popular beaches - "Vorontsov Baths". In the future there will be equipped with a promenade zone, said in their social networks the head of the administration of Yalta Yanina Pavlenko.

"In Ukrainian times over the beach appeared summer "huts on chicken legs", which completely blocked the passage - to pave the beach after winter storms was impossible," - said the mayor.

According to Pavlenko, thanks to the help of one of the major banks, the houses were bought out and demolished. Also one more technical road for access of special vehicles is being laid here.

The improvement will affect the adjacent beach "Children's" and the territory of the fishing artel "Port Georges". By the summer swimming season instead of two small ones there will be three or four wide public beach maps, writes IA SevastopolMedia.

In Soviet times, the beach "Vorontsovskie bathers" was officially called "City". The popular name of the location appeared thanks to the baths of Count Vorontsov, located nearby. It is here that the staircase from the palace to the coast ends.

Earlier "Izvestia" wrote, what new objects Crimea attracts tourists. In 2024 curious places appeared in Alushta, Gurzuf, Yalta, Simferopol, near the resort "Mriya".

Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 after a referendum in which the majority of the peninsula's residents voted in favor of reunification with the Russian Federation. Kiev refuses to recognize the results of the vote and considers Crimea its territory. The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the residents of Crimea voted for reunification in a democratic way, in full compliance with international law, and the question of the peninsula's belonging is closed definitively.
