- A Russian woman who has lived without a passport for 30 years has had her passport restored in court
In Buryatia, a woman lived without a passport for 30 years and managed to restore the document through the court. This was reported in the press service of Gusinoozersk city court of the republic on January 22.
"In the court session it was established that the citizen was born in Gusinoozersk, received a passport in 1984, but in 1993 she lost it and since then has not restored the document," - stated on the court's website.
It is specified that the passport was required for the woman to register a pension and apply to medical institutions. She was able to restore the document through the court.
In August 2024, the lawyer of the company "Consul" Artem Dubnikov told "Izvestia" what to do in case of loss of passport. According to him, it is necessary to go to the passport office in the "My Documents" center, write an application to replace the document due to loss, fill out questionnaires, pay a fine of 2 thousand rubles and get a temporary ID card.
