Skiing, and especially such a variety of it as cross-country skiing, bring general health benefits - strengthen the heart and increase blood circulation. This was stated by "Sportmaster PRO" expert Viktor Savetnikov in a conversation with "Gazeta.Ru" on January 22.

"Cross-country skiing takes place in the fresh air, often in conditions of moderate frost. Such training helps the body to adapt to low temperatures, strengthens the immune system," Savetnikov said.

In addition, this type of sporting activity makes a person less susceptible to colds and allows them to develop resistance to temperature changes. During skiing, athletes breathe fresh air intensively, and thanks to this, a lot of oxygen enters the bloodstream, the metabolism increases its pace and the body's tone grows.

Moderate physical activity, as the expert emphasized, at the same time strengthens the heart, reduces the level of "bad" cholesterol, makes blood circulation more intense and brings blood pressure to normal.

Earlier, on December 6, 2024, Akulina Bakhturina, senior trainer of the international network of ballet and stretching studios LEVITA, told Izvestia that in winter you can continue to practice most of the usual sports, such as running, cycling or vorkout on the tourniquets, you just need to change the equipment. In this case, it is important that the clothes do not restrain movement and was warm, but not too much.

Shoes should be insulated and non-slip winter sneakers. In addition, you should include winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding and ice skating.
