The AFU attacked Energodar, a satellite town of ZNPP, with four drones


The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have attacked the satellite town of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) Enerhodar with four drones. This was reported in the Telegram-channel of the city administration on January 22.
"Today the AFU once again carried out a drone attack on Energodar. According to preliminary information, at least four UAVs that attacked Energodar were recorded. <...> The threat of attack remains!" - the message reads.
The city authorities specified that there were no casualties as a result of the attack, there was no information about destruction, no fires followed.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the means of air defense (air defense) eliminated overnight eight Ukrainian drones over the territory of Russia. In particular, six UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Rostov region and one each over the territories of the Kursk and Voronezh regions.
Earlier, on January 17, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi said that explosions near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant occur daily. It is also noted that Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant still has problems with external power supply.
Zaporizhzhya region, where the nuclear power plant is located, became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum in September 2022. Since then, Zaporizhzhya NPP has been under constant IAEA control.
