An explosion occurred at a mine in southern Poland

In Poland, there was an explosion at the Knurow-Szczyglowice mine, resulting in injuries. This was reported by Polish TV channel TVP Info on January 22.

According to preliminary data, there was an ignition of methane gas in the wall of the mine.

Now a rescue operation to evacuate people is being carried out at the scene. A total of 44 people were in the mine. A total of 10 people were injured. Many of them received burns of varying severity.

Earlier, in June, two people were injured in a methane explosion at a depth of 400 meters in a mine in the town of Solikamsk, Perm Krai. It was reported that 182 people were evacuated from the scene. There were teams of technicians at the mine to measure the concentration of methane and oxygen in the air.
