Air defense systems shot down 114 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory in 24 hours


The Russian Air Defense Forces have shot down 114 Ukrainian drones over the territory of Russia. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 22.
"The means of air defense shot down 114 unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type," - stated in the message of the department.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces) hit the Ukrainian army's depots of missile and artillery weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and fuel and lubricants, as well as accumulations of enemy manpower and equipment in 136 areas.
In addition, units of the "West" group of forces liberated the settlement of Zapadnoye in the Kharkiv region, defeated AFU manpower and equipment in the districts of Kamenka, Zelenyi Gai, Dvurechnaya, Glushkovka, Lozovaya, Yampol, Seversk and Kolodezi in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The enemy lost over 460 servicemen in these directions, as well as 14 pickup trucks, six field artillery guns and two field ammunition depots.
The Defense Ministry noted that in total, since the beginning of the special military operation (SMO), Russian troops have destroyed more than 30,000 military equipment of the Ukrainian army.
On the same day, the BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers of the Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Southern Group of Forces foiled an attempt to prepare the AFU for a counterattack in one of the sections of the Kurakhov direction. Fire from artillery vehicles of the 103rd Motorized Rifle Regiment hit a number of targets at the Ukrainian army's point of concentration, as a result of which the counterattack was thwarted before it began.
The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
