About 2 thousand Chelyabinsk residents were left without light due to the storm

In the town of Korkino, Chelyabinsk Region, about 2,000 people were left without electricity. The cause was bad weather.
IA "Ura.ru" with reference to the press service of the regional government writes that a local technological failure on a section of the cable-technological power line in Korkino occurred during the passage of an atmospheric front across the region. It brought a sharp drop in temperature and squally wind up to 20 m/s.
Power supply was disrupted in the private residential sector. At the same time, social facilities are working.
Governor Alexei Teksler ordered to eliminate the accident as soon as possible. Three brigades of power grids of Yemangelinsk and five units of equipment started to work. The consequences of the accident are planned to be eliminated by 16 o'clock.
The Agency recalls the warning of forecasters that on January 22 and 23 in the Chelyabinsk region will cool down to -27 degrees Celsius, the wind speed will be 20 m/s. Blizzards and snow drifts are expected. In some municipalities canceled classes in elementary schools.
Earlier, on January 21, the head of the forecasting center "Meteo" Alexander Shuvalov said that winter weather can be expected in Moscow this week. The thaw will recede, a little snow will appear. However, from January 23, the temperature is expected to rise again, and a slight frost will last only a couple of days.
