The summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in Tajikistan in October and the meeting of the heads of government in June. Ahmad Saidmurodzoda, head of the CIS countries department of the Tajik Foreign Ministry, told reporters January 22.

"The summit of the heads of state will be held on October 10 in Dushanbe. The meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government will be held on June 5 in Dushanbe," he said in Minsk ahead of the meeting of the Commonwealth's post envoys.

According to TASS, Saidmurodzoda added that the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) is scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan on April 11.

Earlier, on December 25 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended an informal summit of CIS leaders held at the Igora resort complex in the Leningrad Region.
