Russia's domestic tourist market demonstrates significant interest on the part of citizens. During the press conference in Izvestia International Center on the topic "New tourist season: Russians' plans for 2025" January 22, Yuri Barzykin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, Chairman of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Entrepreneurship in Tourism, said.
"It is quite obvious that an 11% growth in the domestic market is visible. In addition, in 2024, the number of trips amounted to about 92 million trips. In 2023 there were 78 million trips," he said.
According to him, the increase in the number of tourists in the Astrakhan region amounted to 28%, in the Krasnodar region - 5-7%. In addition, there is an active growth of tourists in the Altai region and the North Caucasus.
"Despite the logistical problems, Crimea still showed high dynamics. In the absence of a working airport, the region was visited by about 6 million tourists," - specified Barzykin.
Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that in February more tourists will go on trips around the country. This follows from the data of the service for travel planning OneTwoTrip. Thus, the share of hotel bookings in Russia for the year increased by 8% and is 43%. Moscow, Esto-Sadok, St. Petersburg became the most popular cities for tourists.
