Media revealed a possible US proposal on the conflict in Ukraine

The USA may offer Russia a "truce" in Ukraine based on the Korean scenario, but this is unlikely to satisfy Moscow. This was reported by the Asia Times on January 21.
The piece noted that a ceasefire based on the "Korean scenario" does not meet Russia's goals and is most likely impossible if it is limited to a ceasefire without recognizing the new regions and Ukraine's refusal to join NATO.
The publication points out that Russia is not seeking a ceasefire, but an agreement with the United States and NATO. Although the outcome of the idea of an armistice in the Korean scenario is unclear, U.S. President Donald Trump intends to discuss it with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
The 1953 Korean War armistice agreement called for a cessation of fighting, withdrawal of troops, creation of a buffer zone, a ban on invading enemy territory, and an exchange of prisoners of war.
On the eve of the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called ending the conflict in Ukraine a Trump priority. According to him, "part of the preparatory work" has begun. He, among other things, specified that both sides of the conflict should be ready to compromise.
The American leader, commenting on his pledge to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours of beginning his tenure as president, said he has "another half a day in reserve" to help end it. Among other things, he added that he plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as soon as possible.
In addition, Trump said the U.S. has spent $200 billion more on Ukraine than NATO, although other countries in the alliance are much more affected by the conflict. According to him, the North Atlantic alliance should allocate more funds to "even out the score."
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
