Russia and Uzbekistan sign a program of strategic partnership in the military sphere
Russia and Uzbekistan on Wednesday, January 22, signed a plan of cooperation between the defense ministries of the countries for 2025 and a program of strategic partnership in the military sphere for 2026-2030.
It is specified that the cooperation plan for 2025 envisages 50 joint activities in all areas of military activity.
The documents on mutual cooperation were signed by the heads of the Defense Ministries of Russia and Uzbekistan Andrei Belousov and Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov.
Belousov noted that Moscow and Tashkent are strategic partners and friends, their cooperation is constantly growing, which is important for security in Central Asia.
"This is especially important in the current international environment. The heads of Russia and Uzbekistan pay great attention to the development of ties between the security agencies of the two countries," he said.
The defense ministers of Russia and Uzbekistan laid wreaths at the Ode to Fortitude monument in Tashkent.
Earlier, on December 19, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation and agreed to continue close cooperation between the two countries' special services in countering terrorism.
