Media reported a threefold increase in inert gas supplies from Russia to China
China has tripled imports of inert gases from Russia in 2024, RIA Novosti reported on January 22, citing Chinese customs data.
The figure reached $115.7 million and became the highest since 2015. Of these, $111.5 million relate to Russian helium supplies to China, $2.3 million - selenium, and $1.9 million - boron and tellurium.
At the end of last year, Russia ranked fourth in terms of imports of inert gases to China. Germany, Qatar, Malaysia, Malaysia and the United States are among the top five leaders.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping that Russia ranks first in supplies of natural gas and oil to China. At the same time, China is the largest consumer of Russian energy resources.
Earlier, on January 20, it became known that in 2024 China increased imports of Russian oil by 1.3% to 108.47 million tons. The volume of Russian LNG supplies also increased by 3.3% over this period - to 8.3 million tons.
