The airborne airborne special forces of the Avialesokhraniya began preparations for extinguishing fires in Krasnoyarsk Krai. This was reported by Izvestia correspondent Vladislav Tamoshauskas on January 22.

Most of the region is occupied by taiga (70%), and in case of fire, it is possible to get there only by air, by helicopters. Because of the abnormal heat, the fire season will come earlier than usual, so the training is already in winter.

"The landing has begun. Now we have a flat hard surface underneath us, but in combat conditions we most often have to descend where the helicopter cannot land - this is mountainous or swampy terrain, as well as dense forest," Tamosauskas noted.

In 2025, about a thousand aerial firefighters will be trained. They train not only helicopter descents, but also parachute jumps. It is reported that there is little snow this season, for this reason fires are expected earlier. According to forecasts, in the south of the Krasnoyarsk region, the fire season will begin in the first month of spring.

This year, the plan is to reduce the statistics of large forest fires almost twice by attracting new employees - the staff is doubled to a thousand people.

"Permanent employees - 560 people - will undergo training tentatively until February 14, further we will start training young specialists and we will gradually train", - said Deputy Director for the flight service of the regional forest fire center Andrei Bambulenko.

Krasnoyarsk region will receive more than 5 billion rubles from the federal budget in the next three years. The funds will be used to improve the protection of forests from fires in remote areas: 11 existing air departments will be strengthened and one new one will be created.

Earlier, on December 27, 2024, the head of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz) Ivan Sovetnikov said that almost 90% of this year's fires occurred in five regions of the Far East. First of all, Yakutia and the Transbaikal Territory.
