Deputy Director of the Bakulev Scientific and Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Buziyashvili said that it is important for everyone to measure blood pressure.

In a conversation with aif.ru on Tuesday, January 21, the specialist pointed out that any disease at an early stage is detected through preventive examinations, and measuring blood pressure with a tonometer serves as such a study. He warned that pre-hypertension - a condition in which systolic (upper) pressure is between 130-139 mm of mercury column and diastolic (lower) pressure does not rise above 85-89 mm of mercury column - does not show any symptoms, but if no measures are taken, pre-hypertension can develop into arterial hypertension within a year.

Buziashvili said that blood pressure should be measured regularly regardless of how you feel. He explained that pre-hypertension is often detected in young people aged 24-35. The specialist emphasized that every episode of increased pressure should not be taken for hypertension, the pressure can rise and it is a normal reflex reaction of the body to stress or load - emotional or physical.

"When a person undergoes a stress test (examination during physical activity), at the peak of exertion, blood pressure can reach 180-200/80-100. A healthy person differs from a sick person in that their blood pressure normalizes quickly and independently," the academician explained.

He added that the pressure should be measured correctly with appropriate devices. Having registered its increase, it is necessary to consult a doctor, who will confirm or deny these suspicions.

The specialist noted that the signs of hypertension include pressure above 140/70 mm of mercury column, the duration of such episodes and its normalization after taking medication. Also, the symptoms of hypertension during episodes of high blood pressure include nausea, headache, dizziness, heaviness in the back of the head and flickering of flies in front of the eyes, RT writes.

On January 20, therapist Nadezhda Chernyshova gave advice on first aid for hypertensive crisis. According to the specialist, before the arrival of the medics should help the patient to take a comfortable position with an elevated head, dim the bright light and provide a calm environment, notes 360.ru.

In December, endocrinologist Maria Kaloshina recommended hypertensives to limit the consumption of red caviar. According to her, caviar contains sodium, which can cause a violation of water metabolism, contribute to edema and high blood pressure, reports NSN.

Earlier site kp.ru with reference to cardiologists wrote that in arterial hypertension patient's condition is considered dangerous to health when the pressure is equal to or exceeds 140 mm of mercury column. With a regular increase in BP up to 180/110 mm of mercury column creates the highest possible risk of health complications.
