Expert forecasts stagnation of prices in the Russian building materials market in 2025

In 2025, the Russian building materials market will experience price stagnation, according to Sergey Kolesnikov, co-owner and managing partner of Technonikol. He told reporters about it on January 21.

"As long as the ruble is stable, I think prices will be more or less stable. There will not be such a strong price increase, as we saw in 2024. I wouldn't expect a big decline either. As a matter of fact, the decrease [in prices] has already happened," he clarified.

According to him, a further drop in prices is impossible because costs are accumulating. He noted the planned indexation of wages, drew attention to the rising cost of gas, electricity and tax increases.

"Further everything will depend on the ruble exchange rate, the dollar, the level of demand. We do not expect a sharp increase in demand. <...> We see no reasons for a sharp rise in prices. At the same time, we predict that the volume of production and sales will be comparable to 2024," - concluded the expert.
