Media reported on the dismissal of the vaccine case against von der Leyen
A Liege court has dropped the case against the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, who was accused of corruption in the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines. This was reported on January 21 by the publication Lpost.
"The Liege indictment chamber ruled on the inadmissibility of the criminal case against the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen," - stated in the message.
According to the publication, the court refused to consider the lawsuit filed by Frederic Baldan against the accused. This decision also applies to all parties who joined the prosecution. The court did not specify the reasons for the refusal. However, the lawyers do not exclude the possibility of filing an appeal against this decision of the court.
Earlier, on January 7, it was reported that the court of Belgian Liege is considering the legal immunity of von der Leyen, who was accused of corruption in the purchase of COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer in 2020 for more than €35 billion without the agreement of the EU countries.
