A case has been opened over the attempted murder of a cab driver in Nizhny Novgorod

A criminal case has been opened over the attempted murder of a cab driver in Kanavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. This was reported on January 21 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICRF) in the region.

"In the course of media monitoring revealed a publication that in the Kanavinsky district of the city of Nizhny Novgorod during the trip a passenger attacked the cab driver and began to squeeze his neck with his hands," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.

The driver managed to break free from the hands of the attacker, after that he appealed to law enforcement authorities.

On the fact of the incident was initiated a criminal case under the article on attempted murder. Currently, investigators are clarifying the circumstances of what happened.

Earlier, on August 28, 2024, in Balashikha near Moscow, law enforcers detained two suspects in the attempted murder of a cab driver. On the night of August 24, the cab driver was found unconscious with a penetrating wound on his neck in the car parked on the roadway on Sovetskaya Street. During hospitalization, the victim managed to tell that he was the victim of two young passengers. A criminal case was opened under part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. 1 article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder").
