In Germany, two people died in a gas explosion at a Bosch facility

In the city of Reutlingen in southwestern Germany, two people were killed in a gas explosion on the territory of the enterprise of the German concern Bosch. This was reported on January 21 in the press service of the police of the city.

"Around 8.00 (10.00 Moscow time) there (on the territory of the enterprise. - Ed.) for an unspecified reason there was a leak of silane gas. <...> When employees were looking for the cause, the gas suddenly reacted with air Two employees of the specialized firm, 44- and 52-year-old, who were in the immediate vicinity, became victims of the explosion," the police said in a statement.

It specified that the 52-year-old man died at the scene, while the other died of severe injuries in hospital despite the efforts of doctors. Another employee also suffered minor injuries.

According to the Tagesschau publication, information about the explosion at the plant was confirmed by a Bosch spokeswoman.

Earlier in the day, as a result of an explosion in the port of Spanish Barcelona, one person was killed and one was injured. As reported by the General Directorate of Civil Protection of Catalonia, the explosion at the terminals occurred during maintenance work. It was specified that a tank with methyl acetate - a flammable product - exploded. The resulting fire was extinguished.
